		RULES and GUIDELINES for CONTEMPORARY HOME ENTERPRISES, INC. AFFORDABLE HOUSING Telephone #: (323) 290-1234 XXX Emergency #: (323) 293-9495 This is shared housing. Any resident who creates an undesirable environment due to negative behavior such as sexual harassment, poor hygiene, disorderly room environment, not cleaning up common areas, e.g., bathrooms, kitchen, etc., immediately after use will be requested to vacate the home on an immediate basis. All residents who reside in the Contemporary Home are responsible for keeping the common areas of the home clean including the kitchen, dining room, living room and bathrooms. Periodic house meetings can be held to discuss, choose or assign chores so that all areas of the home are neatly maintained. Bedrooms can be inspected at anytime without prior notice. Each resident is to clean the kitchen and bathroom immediately after use. Residents must complete all assigned household chores diligently and satisfactorily. Each resident is responsible for the cleanliness of his/her personal belongings and the conditions of his/her room. Residents are requested to be neatly and appropriately dressed and groomed at all times. All conversations in Contemporary Home should be conducted in a quiet and respectful way. Televisions and sound systems cannot disturb others and must be turned off along with lights when leaving the immediate area. NO SMOKING IN THE HOME. Back yard recommended for this activity. No loitering, gatherings, or extended conversations in front of the home or on the street adjacent to the home. Any alterations, additions or deletions of objects or services, e.g., adding cable television, must first be approved by the Contemporary Home office. The Contemporary Home office should be aware of any action affecting the home before such action is taken. This includes installing telephone service. You must give thirty days prior to leaving Contemporary Home. You must take all belongings at that time. All emergencies must be reported to the Contemporary Home office immediately. Initials: ___________ Rent must be paid on time in CASH or MONEY ORDER. Personal checks will not be accepted. Rent must be paid on or before the 1st of each month. A late fee of $25.00 will be charged for any payment received after the 5th. Problems with neighbors will not be tolerated. Any potential problems with neighbors must be immediately reported to the Contemporary Home office. Knowledge of another resident breaking any rules should be immediately reported to the Contemporary Home office. Illegal drugs and alcohol are not permitted in the home. Knowledge of another resident using alcohol/drugs in the home must be immediately reported to the Contemporary Home office. Residents cannot be present in Contemporary Home while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. All residents are subject to drug testing at anytime without prior notice. Refusal to take a drug test will result in eviction. Parking in the driveway is only by permission of the Contemporary Home office. All cars must be properly registered and operable. Contemporary Home is not responsible for any valuables. Overnight visitors can stay for a maximum of 2 days per month unless permission is granted by the Contemporary Home office. No pets permitted. Services such as Internet, telephone, washer and dryer are provided at the discretion of Contemporary Home and can be terminated and/or removed at any time. Existing locks on doors cannot be altered. No locks can be added. Social gatherings of more than 3 non-residents must be approved in advance by the Contemporary Home office. Lounging in the living room and dining room is not permitted. Television sets are not allowed in the common areas of the home, e.g., the kitchen, living room, dining room or bathroom. Residents are responsible for any damage to the home and furnishing due to the resident’s negligence or volition. Residents cannot operate businesses from Contemporary Home which interfere with the living environment of the other residents. One small television set, one small sound system, and one computer are the only electricity consuming appliances that a resident is allowed to have in his/her bedroom without permission from the Contemporary Home office. All vehicles in the driveway must be operable and registered; otherwise, the vehicle will be towed away. No 411 calls can be made on the home telephone and no collect calls can be accepted. Committing any of the following will result in your being asked to leave Contemporary Home on an immediate basis. Trespassing in other resident’s personal belongings. Theft. Fighting. Threats of bodily harm to another resident. Using any mind-altering substances. Failure to submit to a drug test. Not providing a urine specimen upon request. Using substances in an attempt to cause false negative results of urinalysis. Immoral or indecent conduct on Contemporary Home property. Willful destruction of Contemporary Home property. Carrying or possessing firearms or other illegal lethal weapons while on Contemporary Home property. Unauthorized possession and/or reproduction of Contemporary Home keys. Problems with neighbors or in the community. Involvement in illegal or criminal activities on or off Contemporary Home property.. Exceeding the number or overnight visits per month for guests. ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES MUST RECEIVE PRIOR APPROVAL BY THE CONTEMPORARY HOME TEAM.
